A Major Milestone: JaxBio’s Precision Oncology Study Published

JaxBio’s peer-reviewed study has been published in npj Precision Oncology, reporting a sequencing-free cfDNA methylation microarray assay for lung cancer detection.

In a proof-of-concept study, the assay achieved 93.1% sensitivity at 90.3% specificity, with an AUC of 0.947, and an estimated research workflow cost of approximately $60 per sample.

This is an important step in our mission to make liquid biopsy testing more affordable, scalable, and practical for broader clinical use.

Why We Do What We Do: Make-A-Wish Guest Noam Visits JaxBio

When Noam was just eight years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. After years of treatment, she recovered. 

With a passion for science and hopes of studying medicine or veterinary medicine, her wish was to spend a day experiencing life as a medical researcher.

To make that happen, our entire team came together for her visit. She explored the laboratory, learned about our work and took part in hands-on scientific activities.

We are grateful to have played a small part in making Noam’s wish come true, and we hope this experience is just the first step on her journey toward a future in science.

We’re excited to share that JaxBio has been featured in GenomeWeb:

The article takes an in-depth look at our mission to broaden access to DNA methylation-based liquid biopsy testing through a platform designed to be more sensitive, simpler, faster and more affordable.

It highlights our recently published lung cancer proof-of-concept study, which achieved 93.1% sensitivity at 90.3% specificity, with an estimated cost of approximately $60 per sample and a turnaround time of just two to three days.

Excited to share that our Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer, Prof. Yuval Ebenstein, has written in ynet about the potential of a simpler, more accessible approach to blood-based lung cancer detection.

The article explores the research behind our sequencing-free technology, which uses light to identify cancer-associated DNA patterns in blood rather than relying on DNA sequencing.

Our goal is to make blood-based lung cancer detection faster and more affordable to access – while continuing to validate the technology through clinical studies.
